AGS Committee Meeting Minutes

13:00 Saturday 11th June 2011 in Keynes Seminar Room 2


Attendees: Louise Coulson (Current President), Daniel Painter (Current Treasurer), Jennifer O’Donnell (President 2011-2012), Kat Jayawant (Treasurer 2011-2012), Robert Hughes (Secretary 2011-2012), Andy Harsent (Webmonkey), Jules “B00” Andreae (Librarian), Richard “Skimble” Bellingham (Odd Bod 3)


Item One: Freshers Fayre

Freshers Fayre form has been filled out

The AGS stall will consist of one table with RPG books and a board of photos. The banner may be behind the table or it may be carried around the fayre by volunteers.

1000 bookmarks will be designed and ordered to be handed out at Freshers Fayre for the next two years

Kent Union will be asked whether we can distribute A5 fliers and on which notice boards we are allowed to pin posters


Item Two: Next Year's Secretary

Robert Hughes will be the secretary for next year


Item Three: Benfits for Current Members

Level Up Games, Whatever Comics and Games Workshop will be asked for discounts or benefits.

The possibility of subsidisation for Dragon Meet will be considered

More war-game and card game tournaments may be organised


Item Four: Intro Meeting

RLT 1 Will be booked within the next week

Following the success of this year’s board game night it will be repeated next year

A series of Intro Games will be run throughout Week 1

During the intro meetings there will be someone on a computer who can help people sign up to the society

Membership cards may be discontinued if they are deemed redundant


Item Five: 2nd Meeting

The tour of town will be discontinued

A BBQ or similar will be organised if the weather is nice

Frisbees/ balls ect. will be brought to the meeting


Item Six: More board games

The society’s funds for this term will be spent on board games

The society will gain access to its funds for this term

A list of board games we would like to purchase will be drawn up and we will decide on priority


Item Seven: End of term social

A meal out or similar may be organised for 18/06/2011


Any Other Business

We will apply to get a large cupboard in which we can store the library over the summer

Some weekly meetings will be themed e.g. Halloween week

An achievement system will be implemented to encourage people to try new things. Certificates will be handed out at the end of the 2nd term

Awards will also be handed out at the end of the 2nd term
