AGS Committee Meeting Minutes
13:00 Saturday 27th Feburary 2010 in Keynes Seminar Room 14
Attendees: Craig Pooley (President), Hugh Attwood (Secretary), Jennifer O'Donnell (Treasurer), Dave Stibbards (Librarian), Josef Reinbold (Most Dim-witted Homo sapiens), James G (Senior Position), Skimble (Odd Bod No.3), Andy H (Webmonkey), Benjamin Goodger (Shadow Treasurer)
Apologies: Andy H (Webmonkey), Louise Coulson (Shadow Secretary)
Item One: SocFedCom/New Constitution
The new Constitution was discussed and compiled by the committee. The final version decided upon shall be submitted by the President to Kent Union for their approval before a General Meeting shall be held to ratify or reject it.
Item Two: Unknown Wargames event
An unknown society-relevant room booking in Darwin was discussed. No society member present knew anything about it, and so Darwin shall be made aware of our non-involvement.
Item Three: GameCon/CGN
The new committee were advised to invite the Canterbury Gamers Network to participate in next years event. They were also advised to start planning for the event early. It was decided that 2011's GameCon shall be held on Sat 19th Feb, with none of the new committee members present objecting.
Item Four: Any Other Buisness
It was announced that Westgate Games are looking to stock Games Workshop products, but that orders need to be placed before this can happen. An end-of-the-year party was also requested at the start of the Summer term. However, due to the difficulties imposed by exams and the noise-ban, this was decided against.
The AGS quiz is to take place on the 27th March, with Westgate Games vouchers to be given as prizes. The secretary shall attempt to book RLT1 for the event.
Prizes are to be bought (totaling £15) for Geekfest. The current scoiety membership list is to be sent to the SFX Society's President.
A new AGS logo was approved, and shall be added to the website.
Library additions and removals were discussed by the new Librarian, with the following suggestions:
Purchasing 'Exalted 2nd Ed', 'Legend of Five Rings 3rd ed' (although it was advised to wait until the 4th ed is released) and 'Scion (Hero)'.
Removing 'Exalted 1st Ed', but leaving the companion books.
Any member objections to either should be emailed to the new librarian, who shall discuss them with the rest of the committee before any action be taken. The finances for next year's Library budget shall be sorted this year.
