AGS Committee Meeting Minutes

19th January 2011

Attendees: Louise Coulson (President), Daniel Painter (Treasurer), Matthew Skilton (Most Dimwitted Homosapien), Andy Harsent (Webmonkey), Jules "B00" Andreae (Librarian), Richard "Skimble" Bellingham (Odd Bod 3,James Galloway (Senior Member), Laura (Secretary), Ranos.

Apologies:

Item One: GameCon

Tournaments

The magic prerelease event will not be happening however there will be a Magic tournament.

20-30 people have already signed up for wargames.

Larp

The original Larp will not happen however the committee voted for a super villain Larp to replace it.

Guest Speakers

Dan Abnet has confirmed that he will be at game con between 2pm and 3pm for a talk and signings.

Phil Masters has confirmed his attendance but no times have been confirmed

Society co-ordination

Net games has provided a list of games for the day and the use of two projectors has been confirmed

SFX will announce the Con to their members.

Anime soc

Tinker soc will book robots

Miltes De Bec will attend on both days. They will perform a show on the Sunday.

RPGs

There haven't been many sign ups however people can sign up on the day.

People can run games during any empty slots on the day.

The AGSCon slash AGS Banner

The committee voted for Skimbles design for the AGS Banner. This will be ordered by Dan.

Retailer support of GameCon

Whatever Comics will have a stall at gamecon

Advertising for the convention

Posters will go up as soon as possible. There is a possibility of advertising on the wide screens around campus. Canterbury student radio need contacting.

Report on refreshments

Refreshments will be bought on Thursday afternoon from Bookers.

Raffle

Prizes need sorting out these may have to be bought in town

Any other game con business

A facebook page needs creating for game con

Temporary posters will be needed to provide directions to game con.

Item Two: Fresher's Fair

Kent Union has been contacted about a table outside of essentials however there has been no reply.

Any Other Buisness

The possibility of an AGS vs SFX night has been discussed
