AGS Committee Meeting Minutes
13:00 Saturday 21st Feburary 2009 in Keynes Seminar Room 14
Attendees: Ruth Wake (President), Hugh Attwood (Secretary), Dave Stibbards (Librarian), Adam Coleman (Most Dim-witted Homo sapiens), Andy Harsent (Webmoneky), Richard Bellingham (Skimble Odd Bod), James G (Senior Position)
Apologies: Kim Britnell (Treasurer)
Item One: Committee Reports
The President reported that the Society has a membership of between 30 and 50 this year (Secretary's notes ommited exact figure upon reread).
The Secretary reported that required rooms have been booked.
The Treasurer reported that the Society is well within budget for the year.
The Librarian reported that the library list is ready to be voted upon, that efforts should be made to return old books and that the Library is ready to be opened.
Item Two: AGS Con Naming & Preperations
- The committee decided upon a name for the event: 'GameCon, Day of the Dice'.
- Andy and Skimble have formed the Pretification team, and shall design/print posters for the event.
- Roo to contact Games Workshop and Whatever Comics about the possibility of setting up stalls.
- Raffle prizes have been offered (1x copy of Werewolf: the Forsaken, Hunter: the Vigil, Promethian: the Changed and Discworld GURPS rulebooks).
- Society members to recieve one free ticket for the raffle, with the option of purchasing more.
- A wall of supporters proposed for those who offer raffle prizes or other contributions.
- Setup for the event (to be held 7th March) shall begin at 08:30.
- Morning session to be held from 09:30-13:00.
- Afternoon session to be held from 14:00-17:30.
- A plan for room useage was drawn up:
KLT5 - E-Gaming (to be run by Baz)
KLT6 - GM/Player Workshop (Adam/Hugh)
KS12 - RPGs (Skimble, others)
KS13 - RPGs (Adam, others)
KS14 - Terrain Making/LARP game (Simon & Dave/Mark)
KS15 - Boardgaming (James)
KS16 - Wargaming (Simon & Dave)
KS17 - Bag Room (Possessions to be left at owners own risk!)
In the entrance area there shall be space for refreshments, raffle booth, bring & buy, and market stalls.
Item Three: Committee Position Elections
Elections were held for the following Committee positions for next year, with the following results:
President - Craig Pooley
Secretary - Hugh Attwood
Treasurer - Jennifer O'Donnell
Librarian - Dave Stibbards
Tech Monkey - Andy Harsent
Odd Bod 3 - Dice Chicken (Skimble to assume duties when Dice Chicken otherwise occupied)
Senior Member - James Galloway
Most Dim Witted Homo Sapiens of the Year - Josef Reinbold
Item Four: Award Categories
The categories for the end-of-year AGS awards were discussed, with the following decided upon:
Most Dim Witted Homo Sapiens of the Year (Already awarded)
Biggest Liability.
Most Devious Bastard.
Biggest Twink.
Worst Dice Luck.
Cutiest Cute of the Cute.
Beginners Luck.
Dave Stibbards has offered to make Statuettes as prizes for these awards.
Item Five: Any other buisness
- Skimble has asked for more articles to be written for 'Dragon Droppings'.
- Rutherford Lecture Theatre One (1) to be booked for the AGS Quiz on 21st March.
- The Library list was voted upon & passed unanimously.
- Committee meetings to be held 28th Feburary, 13:00-14:00, KS14, to discuss GameCon preperations.
