AGS Committee Meeting Minutes
13:00 Saturday 28th March 2009 in Keynes Seminar Room 14
Attendees: Ruth Wake (President), Hugh Attwood (Secretary, arrived late), Kim Britnell (Treasurer), Dave Stibbards (Librarian), Adam Coleman (Most Dim-witted Homo sapiens. Next years Core Committee also in attendance.
Apologies: Richard Bellingham (Skimble Odd Bod).
Item One: Committee Meetings
The structure of committee meetings was discused, with the following feedback:
- Annoyance was registered at the frequency of committee meetings, due to some not recieveing emails & thus not getting the required weeks notice prior. - The committee next year to look into a less formal method of meetings, with greater communication between members outside of the meetings. - The Voting method in committee meetings is also to be examined. - Simon to continue as Election Monkey, in absence of any other candidates.
Item Two: Fresher's Fair '09
The suggestion of a joint meeting between the committees of AGS, Anime & SFX was aired, along with the suggestion of joint fliers/handouts.
Skimble has volunteered to be present at the Fair to help with mailing list/other things.
Item Three: Mailing List
The nature of the mailing list was discussed, arising ina desire by some mebers to move more discussion to the forums, reserving the mailing list for weekly meetings announcements, etc.
Item Four: Forum
A new thread was proposed, to get input from new members of the society. In addition, a committee-only section was proposed, in order to facilitate better communication.
